Port Canaveral and Orlando hotels for your cruise

Book with the Captain is an independent travel advisor of Fora Travel.

Most Port Canaveral cruisers fly into Orlando International, so the night before usually comes down to two choices. You can stay at the airport if you land late, or go to the coast and wake up near the ship. After the cruise, Cocoa Beach is an easy place to slow down. Here's where I start.

Hotel picks

Radisson Resort at the Port

Area: Cape Canaveral (8701 Astronaut Blvd.)

Why stay: It offers Park & Cruise packages with parking and a round-trip port shuttle, plus a waterfall pool, a Tiki Bar and a kiddie pool, per the hotel.

The Westin Cocoa Beach Resort & Spa

Area: Cocoa Beach, oceanfront (1300 N. Atlantic Ave.)

Why stay: It's an oceanfront resort with Heavenly Spa, resort pools, a splash pad and The Lineup Endless Surf pool, per Marriott. It works well for a beach stay after the cruise. There's no airport shuttle.

Hyatt Regency Orlando International Airport

Area: Inside Orlando International Airport (MCO)

Why stay: The airport says the hotel is between Terminals A and B, above the security checkpoint for Gates 70–129. That's handy if you land late and head to the coast in the morning.

FAQ

Should I stay in Orlando or near Port Canaveral before a cruise?

If you land late, a night at the airport hotel saves you a dark drive. If you land earlier, head to the coast and you'll wake up near the ship. Either way, it helps to arrive the day before. I'll match the plan to your flight time and your cruise line's boarding window.

Do Port Canaveral hotels offer cruise parking and shuttles?

Some do. Radisson Resort at the Port says its Park & Cruise packages include parking for your car during the cruise and a shuttle to the port. Terms, passenger limits and fees change, so I confirm the current details with the hotel and don't quote prices on this page.

Is Cocoa Beach a good base for a Port Canaveral cruise?

It can be. Cocoa Beach is on the same stretch of Atlantic coast as Port Canaveral, so it works well for a beach day before or after your sailing. Drive times depend on which hotel and terminal you're using. I'll check yours and suggest whether a beach stay or a port-side hotel makes more sense.
